Certificate 3 in individual support course packs a person with skills to perform activities to maintain personal care in homes as well as in aged care settings. The course is designed in a way to facilitate candidates with both theory & practical training with a lot of assessment and learning in the workplace where applicants can practice freshly obtained information via provision of skills in areas related to personal care, assist individuals to maintain independence in their house and deliver support and welfare services to help the most vulnerable individuals in the community.
In order to accomplish Cert 3 individual support qualification, an applicant must complete minimum 120 hours of work as described in the assessment requirements of the units of competency and must be more than 18 years of age. A National Police Clearance check is also required to enrol in this course. Student cannot undertake work experience without a criminal history check.
Post completing Cert 3 individual support course an applicant can work in one of the several available positions such as AIN (Assistant in Nurse), Personal care worker, Community care worker, Support worker & Respite worker.
